Hugs for Anna

One day, while surfing the net, I came across a profile of a young woman in her early twenties on social networking. Her name was Anna, and she was suicidal. As I read, I felt this weird tingling sensation and suddenly it hit me what I needed to do: save Anna's life. But I had never met Anna before and probably never would, so how?

Thus, the Hugs for Anna project was born. The concept is that each person involved pledges to perform random acts of kindness for six different people. Why six? Because I read somewhere that everyone in the world is connected to everyone else by six different people. I figure that if we get enough people involved, the entire world will be affected by our love, by the love God gave us, and with those random acts of kindness we can save the lives of people we've never even met. Then, we let them know what we're doing through social messaging.

Why It Works:

  1. Because if we get enough people involved, we really can change the world.
  2. Because what is more life-affirming than kindness?
  3. Because people care, and when people care, amazing things happen.
